Information

About You:
Name: Amy
Age: 22
Previous Experience: Past and Present Characters
AIM: Nimbuschick
MSN: N/A

About the Character:
Name: Caradoc Accalon Dearborn
Age/Birthday: Age 18, Birthday October 3
Occupation/Student: Student
House: Ravenclaw
Titles: Prefect (I didn't see one picked for his house and year)
Patronus: House Cat
Boggart: The well in the woods behind his house
Character Played By: Jamie Dornan

Personality: Caradoc is in love with books. He'll read anything, muggle or wizard, that he can get his hands on. He loves to read and write. he wants to be a poet or a great author some day. He's sensitive, though he's smart enough to know to save his tears for when it really counts. He's a romantic. He believes in chivalry.

As for politics and religion, he just doesn't discuss those. His father made a lot of friends and money from straying away from those subjects. He believes very strongly in the validity of muggles and their ideas, but he doesn't believe passionately enough (yet) to be moved into action. As for religion, he believes in God, he's not sure if he's a Christian but he likes the ideas, and he wants everyone to be happy with their own faith. Trying to argue people into believing what you do, in his mind, is contrary to the purpose of religion.

Caradoc will listen to your ideas, unless he thinks they are hateful. He likes to talk to new people. He has patience with what others would consider stupidity and sometimes even envies the simple for the bliss in their lives.

Caradoc doesn't like Quidditch. He thinks competitive sports make monsters out of men.

Character Strengths & Weakness:
Strengths: Fast and insightful reader. Great writer. Good with words. Patient. Charming, healthy (eating and exercise)

Weaknesses: Will fore go his honour to avoid a fight (though not the honor of a lady), bad at math, cannot fly, knows nothing about Quidditch or whoever plays it, allergic to nuts, claustrophobic, bad at swimming and afraid of deep water

Relationships: Close with his father (Andret Dearborn, Owner of Obscurus Books), has three little sisters (Branwen, 11 (first year); Clarine (9); and Gwendolen (5)), Mother (Lynelle)

Family History: Andret Dearborn was born to humble means, a pureblood wizard from London. His father died when he was young, leaving Andret to care for his mother and sister. When he was grown he started working for a bookseller. His sister married a french wizard and moved away and his mother passed. Andret was left with nothing to lose and so he took his savings and started a publishing company. Obscurus books signed a few small deals (text books, mostly) and from those deals Andret made a lot of money.

He spent the next few years of his life building his company, giving promising young researchers a chance to shine. When he was in his thirties he married a young witch, Lynelle, and at age forty (he was a very busy man) they had their first child, Caradoc.

Caradoc was raised around the company. His father branched into publishing fiction and Caradoc was given books for young readers to give the thumbs up or thumbs down to. From this experience he developed a love of reading and learned a great deal before he went off to Hogwarts at age eleven. He also grew a little less adventurous in real life pursuits from an accident when he was seven. Caradoc fell in an old well in their back yard and nearly drowned. A muggle neighbor found him and rescued him before he gave up treading water. Caradoc has never liked dark small places or water very much.

Caradoc was sorted, naturally, into Ravenclaw. His family had no doubt because he was solitary, quiet, and peaceful. They didn't really expect he'd make any other house.

Caradoc still read what books he could for his father, testing out text books as well as fiction as he grew. He made a few friends with others in his year but mostly kept to his books. In the mean time his parents had three more children, filling their house once more with little feet.

When Caradoc turned fourteen it was like a switch clicked. Suddenly he was noticing all of the girls around him. His tastes in literature turned more towards romantic works-- poetry and classics. He started reading about Knights and Chivalry and fell in love with the idea of romance more than any girl he'd met.

Caradoc is now a seventh year and about to enter the "real world". He's hoping to be a writer, though he has no idea what he'd write first.

Current Living Situation: Hogwarts castle, Ravenclaw seventh year boys' dormitory. Middle bed.
